The release of the Rock Band game today and a series of remastered albums has sparked renewed interest in the band that never went away, despite the death of two of its members.
The Beatles Rock Band is the first game officially endorsed by the group.
"Nowhere Man" was their first song not to deal with girls and romance in one way or another.
Well, just five months after "Nowhere Man" was released the liberated Beatles sat down and recorded a single that made it to #1 on the US charts although both the A-side nor B-side had nothing "romantic" about them."Paperback Writer" is probably the superior of the two.
This single comes from a time when they were bounding forward like greyhounds, escaping their "she loves you, yeah-yeah-yeah" roots. If the ads navigated you to another page, then use the back button to navigate back to the exact page where the problem started and submit from there. For a band that released its first single in 1962, the Beatles have amazing longevity.Just with trippy backing vocals to boot (also found on the b-side).A Zum Abschluss meiner "Offler hört die Hit des Jahres 1966"-Stunde denn doch noch ein würdiger Song der Beatles.
Beatles single rain
to make sure Official is the Number 1 chart site on the interweb.Cookies remember your choices and tailor content especially for you (as Kylie & Jason might say) and by being here you consent to their use.It presages all the studio dickery on Revolver, what with backwards vocals and meddled-with tape speed. This is maybe not the best Beatles single--a lot of people have suggested "Strawberry Fields Forever"/"Penny Lane" gets that distinction, and that's a mighty single indeed, but it's woefully lacking in rock.(Production Note: by now the Beatles were so powerful at EMI that they -- previously they'd been overruled because technical limitations at the cutting stage had meant singles with a high bass signal were likely to make mono record player arms jump.) As for Mr Lennon, he was indulging in a few melding of influences himself -- in his case, Bob Dylan and a head full of LSD.
The end result, "Rain", has, not surprisingly, a hazy, druggy vibe -- even the drums seem suspended in mid-air.(I just read that apparently George played bass and Paul played guitar on this song, which is quite impressive.) The bass is much more prominent and melodic than on previous Beatles releases, something which happily carries over to..."Rain." Another top tune, this one from Mr John Lennon. Its most prominent feature is the rather worrisome melismatic harmonies.Supposedly Paul wrote it to emulate the Beach Boys and their characteristic harmonies.Nobody will confuse this for a Pet Sounds outtake, but that's just fine--it's something better, a super rock song with great riffs from the guitar and the bass alike.
